Space Chase! Explore & Learn 1.0

The interactive experience prior to, during, and after a visit to the Kennedy Space Center offers a unique opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of space exploration in a competitive and engaging format.

Participants are invited to assess their space knowledge through thought-provoking questions and striking imagery, all within a dynamic gaming environment. Three distinct missions correspond to key exhibits at the Kennedy Space Center, providing an educational framework that aligns with academic standards. This multifaceted approach not only prepares students for their field trip but also fosters interaction throughout the experience, followed by reflective learning back in the classroom.

The educational journey begins in the classroom with preparatory challenges designed to stimulate creativity and focus attention on the upcoming excursion. The on-site missions enhance interaction with the exhibits, while a concluding mission helps solidify the insights gained during the visit.

The missions include:

• What Makes a Hero? Discover the Rocket Garden – This mission encourages students to explore the characteristics of various hero archetypes. Engaging challenges are crafted to ignite imagination, positioning students as NASA engineers, scientists, and astronauts. Through real-world scenarios and goal-oriented tasks, players gain insight into what it takes to surpass the limits of human achievement.
• Mission to Math: Discover Space Shuttle Atlantis – In this mission, students tackle mathematical challenges that demonstrate math as an accessible language. While exploring interactive exhibits at the Space Center, they are motivated to further their understanding of math concepts, as activities are aligned with standards from grades 5 to 9.
• To the Moon! Discover NASA’s Apollo Missions – This mission provides an engaging overview of the historic Apollo missions. Students will have the opportunity to anticipate and relive pivotal moments leading up to lunar exploration. They will gain insights into the challenges faced and the lessons learned during this monumental era through interactions with artifacts, rockets, and personal narratives that connect them to history’s defining moments.
